Our Story
At Mack Built Sheds, building isn’t just what we do — it’s what we know, inside and out. Founded by Sam MacKenzie, an experienced shed builder who transitioned to project management after a life-changing motorcycle accident, Mack Built Sheds combines hands-on expertise with strategic oversight. Sam’s passion for construction and love for creating functional, beautiful spaces is at the heart of everything we do.
With over 20 years of building experience, Sam has grown Mack Built from a vision into a trusted name in shed construction across Auckland and beyond. Our mission is simple: to design and deliver sheds and steel buildings that are strong, functional, and tailored to the people who use them.
We don’t do “one size fits all” — every project is customised, whether it’s a rural workshop, a lifestyle shed, a commercial facility, or a hybrid space that blends living and working under one roof.
We’ve invested in advanced building systems to make that happen. Our cold-rolled steel frames can span up to 30m wide and 8m high, while hot structural steel is used for larger or highly specialised builds. With a braceless design for clean, open spaces and cast-in hold-downs for unmatched strength, every structure is engineered to last.
Over the years, we’ve built more than just sheds — we’ve built relationships. Many of our clients return for second or third projects, trusting us to deliver with the same care, precision, and pride every time.
